TEACHING AND RELATED WORK
Present - supervise and develop curriculum and materials for online, onsite, and teleclass courses; create and teach DE classes on a variety of subjects to adult educators in the Four Corners region and Colorado; conduct workshops on a variety of issues related to adult educators' needs; facilitate online courses for Rocky Mountain PBS; edit educational newsletters; write and coordinate grants to bring funding for educational technology and curriculum into the area.
Recently -Taught technology workshops and classes to teachers wishing to integrate computer skills into instruction (Star Schools, Colorado Department of Education, Leading Edge Consulting, SWBOCS Adult Education); created and broadcast Adult Basic Education classes on television (San Juan Technical School, Star Schools, Adult Education); presented at state and national conferences; participated in activities as a member of Vice-President Gore's Communities of Excellence initiative (on of 13 representative organizations nationwide).
1962 to Fall of 1997 - In addition to teaching regular and distance learning classes (Academic ESL, Basic Skills, Reading), trained 10-15 faculty each semester in interactive video distance learning techniques and multimedia software use and presentation; trained other Texas community college faculty in DE, SCANS, and multimedia techniques to be reproduced in their own institutions. Produced interactive software programs and training videos for ESL students at various levels. Certified Laubach Literacy Teacher Trainer. Teaching background includes teaching in public, private and government programs, for a variety of populations with specific academic and occupational needs.
